概要
The Faculty of Environmental and Symbiotic Sciences offers Basic English I (BE I) to its first-year students. BE I will focus on building students' communication skills, including learning basic vocabulary, speaking and listening, but also reading and writing. Class time will be student-centered, and students will be expected to use English in the classroom. Homework will include preparation for class time and activities to enhance students' personal learning.

This class will focus on developing the four basic skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing) through a variety of in-class and individual exercises, assignments and readings. Class time will be used for English conversation and role-play, as well as for exercises aimed at vocabulary acquisition. Outside of class, students will be required to use the English Central system.
到達目標
Basic English I (BE I) builds on first-year students' high school English abilities. BE I will help students improve their vocabulary, especially the most frequent words they will meet in English. Students will communicate in English with their classmates and teachers. Students will also have opportunities to improve their reading and writing skills. Students completing BE I will have the ability to communicate with anyone about simple personal topics in English.
履修上の注意
Students are responsible for coming to class on time, participating in class activities, and completing assignments independently. As role-play exercises are a main feature of this class, regular attendance is required to achieve a high grade.
