|The Faculty of Environmental and Symbiotic Sciences offers Basic English III and IV to its second-year |
students. Both Basic English III and IV courses meet once a week. The main purpose of the courses is to complement the Basic English I and II courses with the addition of computers and the Internet. The main objectives are to help students improve their reading and writing skills, but speaking and listening activities may also be included. Homework will be given weekly and will be evaluated according to the teacher's schedule.
The Internet can be used to find many kinds of information. Some of this information can be both interesting and useful to learn English. Your teacher will create some activities designed to help you learn how to use the Internet to study English. Then you can try the techniques out for yourself, using information that you are interested in.
You will usually have a weekly homework assignment to write a report on what you learned from your class.

|In this class, students to pass all in-class assignments adequately and complete all homework assignments by the assigned deadline, and participate actively (50%), and must also pass all examinations (50%).|
|In order to receive credit for this class, students must show marked improvement in their English and Internet-using skills. Students must also have a command of basic reading and writing they learn in class. In addition, students must be able to demonstrate good communicative English skills and have improvement in communication with others in English about simple topics they read and write about on the Internet.|
