概要
Basic English IIb will develop reading and listening and critical thinking skills through a variety of pair and group exercises while also giving students opportunity to increase reading and writing proficiency through readings and writing assignments.
Students will be required to participate actively in all class exercises and be willing to engage in a variety of conversation, role-playing and creative activities throughout the semester.
到達目標
By actively participating in this class, students will be able to process information given in English while watching clips from National Geographic Channel programs. Grammar points and new vocabulary will be thoroughly reviewed each week to achieve this goal.
履修上の注意
Students are expected to actively engage themselves in the activities both during and outside the class. The primary language of the class will be English. Students are expected to come to class regularly and on time. Students must attend at least 67% of all class meetings to be eligible to take the exam. If students miss a class, it is their responsibility to confer with classmates to determine what they have missed. Regardless of student attendance, deadlines for all assignments will be enforced. If students have any questions about the class, they should ask their instructor during or after the class time.

について
Students are expected to prepare for each class meeting by reading the relevant part of the textbook several times in advance. Avoid using your dictionary unless absolutely necessary, instead guessing as much as possible to finish the preliminary tasks (reading) section. You are encouraged to write down any new vocabulary or expressions that you would like to remember, but always remember to “guess” before reaching for a dictionary.
To review for the class, make sure you take advantage of all skills (reading, listening, writing, speaking) that you have. For example, you may need to use a new vocabulary that you came up with during reading class and write or say them in sentences to learn them effectively. Students who do this will be able to comfortably handle the workload.
