概要
In this class we will read and discuss four American short stories from various genres and time periods. Attention will be paid to historical context, style, and themes.

について
Class preparation should include the following:
1. Read the assigned material once without looking up unknown words.
2. Read carefully again the assigned material. This time look up unknown words in a dictionary.
3. Think about the meaning of what you have read.
4. Write down what you think is important and prepare discussion topics and questions to ask in class.

Class time will be devoted to explanations and discussions.
