Overview
The Department is focused on the study of food and health from a scientific and ecological perspective, with an awareness of local environmental characteristics.
Courses include food function. human physiology and the functioning of the body, metabolism of nutrients in the human body, diet and the prevention of lifestyle-related diseases, nutritional management in disease, biotechnology and food development, food safety and human health, the role of exercise in health care, and food production.
A strong emphasis on fieldwork and a variety of experimental and practical courses consolidate students' basic knowledge while fostering the ability to apply that knowledge in creative ways.
