Summary: イギリスで小学校に入学した子供が実際に読む練習に使う本だとききました。ストーリー展開が始まるのが、ちょうどこのstage4からときいて、ここから始めました。子供向きの英語の本、というと、英語の平易さで選ぶと、感性的にはちょっと幼くなってしまうのが大概ですが、これはまさに内容的にも１年生にどんぴしゃり、しかも英語も平易で１ページに簡単な英文１文程度。これだけの文章なのに、なんとこの絵本は多くを語っていることか、夢と冒険の香りはたっぷり。なんともユーモラスで子供も笑って大喜び、しかも１冊１冊はあっという間におわる短さなのですが、つい読んでいる私も次が気になってやめられず、次の本へと手が出てしまって、ああーーもうおわっちゃった、残念、という感じ。さすが児童文学の国イギリスの教科書ですね、これは。stage５に進まずにはいられませんん。
