Do you have an interest in travel?
I was never particularly interested in travel, because I couldn't understand people paying money just to go and see something. For me, it always made more sense to buy something I wanted than to spend money on travel. Until the summer of last year. That was when I read a poem that said, "If the world is one book, you can read only one page unless you go traveling."
I was enchanted by this phrase, and I realised that I would probably have little time to travel after graduation. So I decided to travel at the earliest opportunity.
I went to Tokyo that summer, and, even though I didn't have a clear plan, I decided to stay for eleven days. I went with a senior student, but he has a girlfriend in Tokyo, so I had to act alone in an unfamiliar city, starting with finding a place to stay.
