Summary: This is one of the best-selling children`s science books for good reasons. The story-text of the original series, at once humorous, engaging, and packed with information, is complemented by lively pictures, supplemented by cartoon bubbles containing thoughts and comments, and short "reports" by the students in the book. The teacher, Ms Frizzle, is an amazing Poppin-esque character who challenges her students and leads them on unbelievable fieldtrips on their one-of-a-kind school bus. Her equally fascinating wardrobe changes with the subject and situation. The students, recurring characters who reflect the multicultural nature of the US, sport varying temperaments and interests, with whom children may easily identify.
In INSIDE THE EARTH, the bus, at first, won`t start. But when it does, look out! It turns into a steam shovel; provides the students and Ms Frizzle with a new wardrobe, digging equipment; and transports them to the center of the earth, Jules Verne-style: all for the class rock collection. Along the way we learn about: rocks-- their origins and formation; you know: geology, but with the Frizzle spin.

Summary: Ｍａｇｉｃ Ｓｃｈｏｏｌ Ｂｕｓが、ヒトの体の中を探検するというものですが、４－８歳児向けとなっていますが、大人でも楽しめます。内容はしっかりしているし、単語レベルもその割りに高めのような気がします。次のページをめくるのが楽しみで、何回も読みたいです。絵も解り易いです。ユーモアのあるちょっとユニークな絵も私は大好きです。
Ｆｒｉｚｚｌｅ先生もユニークでいいですね～、このシリーズは他のも読みたいです。

Summary: 英語版は生徒達のメモも味があるので楽しいです。社会見学のプラネタリウムがお休みで学校に帰るつもりが、スクールパスがロケットに早変わり。みんなで１つ１つの惑星を探検に行きます。宇宙でフリズル先生と離れ離れになるアクシデントも起きます。なかなか勉強になって楽しいです。

Summary: The school bus undergoes a marvelous series of transformations including a giant surf board, to transport us to and through the ocean, from tidal pols, down to the deep ocean floor, and, after a brief stop in the waters of a tropical island (coral reef!,) home. We were touched by the cameo of a local specimen of fish (we`re from Hawaii.) However, OUR lifeguards are nothing like Lenny who is purely fictional and, unlike the rest of the book, profoundly lacking in substance, not to mention brains. Real lifeguards back home, patrol their strip of beach and keep watch over the waters. They also patiently answer our questions about the local fauna, and just as patiently patch up even the smallest of "boo-boos." Minus one star for lenny.
Otherwise, chock full of interesting facts, and witty and detailed illustrations.

テーマは家族と友情がメインで、恋と友情や夢に関することも書かれています。192ページしかないのに、内容の濃い児童本です。
チャプター４の後半までは、あまり話に引き込まれなかったのだけど、ヴァイオレットに親友・ジャスミンができてから、話がすごく面白くなって、最後まで一気に読んでしまいました。彼女たちの会話や行動が、自分の中学生時代を思い出させてくれて、なんだか不思議な気分でした。女の子同士の親友関係って、恋愛がからんでくると危うくなってくるんだけど、この２人にもそんな危機が訪れます。でも、本当の友情だったら、そんなことでは壊れないのよね。ヴァイオレット、ジャスミンそしてウィルの３人が話の中心だけど、ヴァイオレットの大好きな作家キャスパー・ドリームも重要な登場人物です。児童本なのに、たくさんのテーマが混ざっていて、いろんなことを考えされられました。オススメの本です。ウィルの秘密もわかって、問題も解決してすっきりしました。
星４つの理由は、ちょっと意地悪なウィルにムカついたからです。ヴァイオレットが成長していく過程を応援しながら、楽しめる本でした。
Jacquline wilsonさんのGirlsシリーズが人気らしいので、今度はそっちも読んでみようと思ってます。

今では歳をとって世話をしてくれる人もなく辛い。
そこへお隣のMes.Teaberryが愛犬Zekeを送って来て色々と面倒を見てくれます。
おいしいチキンスープに勇敢な犬のお話でこの風邪は最高なものになりました。
